Author’s Note: This is a piece about a couple of quote in the book “Touching Spirit Bear” by Ben Mikaelsen.
I found a couple of quotes in the book “Touching Spirit Bear” by Ben Mikaelsen, which pertain to the book or have resemblance to one of the main parts. One of the quotes that I found was said by Garvey, and it stated, “What makes you think that you are better than your dad or his parents?” The reason that I think that this is related to the main part in this book is because Cole is very bad! He is so bad that he has had to go to jail a lot of times. He has been so bad that they sent him off to a disserted Alaskan island by himself, to teach him a lesson. He even says to Garvey after Garvey said that to him, he says “I’m no better, I’m worse, my dad has never had to go to jail” so that means that he knows how bad he is. That is how this quote pertains to the main part in this book.
Now as I was saying is that there is more than one quote in this book that goes to the main part. Another quote is when Edwin says “Not until your anger skips a day”, he says that because Coles asks if they can skip a day. This relates to the main part because Cole is always angry. He is always angry because he has major anger problems! So much that he paralyzed Peter in the book just because Peter was being a good citizen and told on Cole for robbing a hard ware store. That is why this quote can also be related very well.
As well as “He just whips me because he’s mad” is another quote because this could be the start of Cole’s anger issues. Well actually it could also be where he gets his anger from. It could have just come through genetics, because he dad has anger issues too. So it could have just come when he was born. Or why he has anger issues could also be because his dad hits him for no reason. Well actually there is a reason, it’s because he is mad. So Cole could get his anger issues two different ways. One through genetics. Or two because his dad hit him so he had so much pent up aggression that he just had to take it out on someone. So he decided it would be Peter. That is how I feel that this quote pertains to the main part. That is three outstanding quotes that are relatable to the main part in the book “Touching Spirit Bear” by Ben Mikaelsen.
