Author’s Note: This is a letter written to Cole of what I thought of him in the beginning of the book and how I am proud of him for changing his ways in the end of the book.
Dear Cole,
In the beginning of the book I thought you were just a mean bully. I thought that because you have had a very violent past and have had to go to jail many times. You also beat up Peter for telling the police the truth. Even though this was not a nice thing to do. You still have to give him some props for standing up to you and telling the truth. But you really have shown us your strength and power to become a better person.
As I was saying, is that throughout the entire story you have really changed and I am really proud of you for improving in your attitude and your actions. I really believe that it was a smart idea to go to the island instead of jail, because if you would have went to jail then you would have been surrounded by criminals, and that wouldn’t have been a good environment for you to be in at all. But on this island you really have had time to think about your actions, and find inner peace in yourself, and re-gather yourself, and your thoughts, and have finally got some common sense because not everybody is afraid of you or is going to be afraid of you. I am even more proud of you for giving Peter your blanket that means that you must really trust him. And I think that he believes that you have truly changed and that maybe even now you two could be friends even with your past with each other.
Sincerely,
A Reader and A Believer Brandon Kennedy
