Authors Note: This is a piece to compare and contrast the move The Patriot and the book The Fighting Ground.
What would you write about if you were going to compare and contrast a book to a movie? Well I read the book The Fighting Ground and then watched the movie The Patriot. These two things are similar yet different. Yet other things could be similar and different. The two things have something in common and some things that are different but mostly things that are in common.
One way that they are similar is one of the themes in the book which is perseverance; this is similar in both things because in the book the main character and to persevere to get through being captured, and in the movie they have to persevere thought the war to finally win in the end to start a new America. One way they are different is the book has nothing to do with the red coats and the militia; it had to do with a little town fighting for their freedom against the Hessian soldiers. Another similarity is that they both are real wars that happened. But both of them don’t have real characters in them.
Now as there aren’t real characters in the movie there also aren’t real characters in my book. The character in my book is called Johnathan and in the movie it is Benjamin. That is also similar with them. My favorite thing in them both that is similar is that there are amazing fighting scenes that have a lot of action in them. So they are similar and different in their own ways. My favorite thing about them being different is how they make them both sound so real even though they are so fake.
As I had said in the previous paragraph is that they are similar and different. With that you know the similarities and differences throughout the book and the movie. I feel that these are some very big pieces of evidence to believe that these two things are similar and different. The movie and the book are similar and different but they both have valid point of why they are similar and different.
